Since yesterday I have massive problems with googleupdatedaemon on Mac OSX 10.9.Įvery hour it tries to download 500MB and quit with an error in the log file. How much is this plugin by itself? The whole Collection is $149.?įacebook group for Nik's new Analog Efex Pro I guess I have interrupted the secret update. Color Efex took longer to upload and save-similar time-wise to Analog Efex. I wonder if Nik upgraded the other features, too. Seemed to be a sensible application to me. I tried it out right away and enjoyed processing a shot of San Fran and a cable car with a vintage look. I had trouble accessing Color Efex, so I finished what I was doing and restarted the computer hoping that would clear the glitch. Yes, my Nik bundle was updated automatically. Is this a full, working edition or just a trial? I'm not at home to check, but I wonder if there is an auto-update preference like in most other software?

Still trying to figure out how to prevent or even cause an update.įrom the notes above copied from the nikG site the *automatic updater* checks you machine on boot up, and may also test if machine was turned off for a period of time ( a few hours). Uninstalled/re-installed 1.0.0.7 original code and it is working again. Got error msg about missing DLL file, ended up going to uninstall NIK Software and discovered that it had just been updated today to 1.1.0.5 without my knowledge. The update caused all NIK filters to disappear from PS CS6 and would not work though still shown in LR5's EDIT-IN> drop-down. Same here on stealth update between last use at midnight last night and noon today when I returned. Google isn't known for asking permission. I hate such modifications without permision. Not sure how, but I was not asked for an update or anything else nor a re-install of the NIK trial.Īctually I'm trying to figure out how the update was done and where to change the download settings - any idea?ītw - cool filters now available in the new Analog Efex Pro - must test. I opened my CS6 today after a few days since the last time I used and I realized that Analog Efex Pro was somehow installed automatically as additional possibility in my filter overview. Then, double-click on the file to run the installer.

Use a disk or external hard drive to move the downloaded installer file from the connected computer to your editing computer. Simply download the Nik Collection trial at from a separate computer that is connected to the internet. What if my computer is not connected to the internet?

Or, keep the host application closed for at least a few hours to give the automatic updater time to check your machine and install the software. Try closing your host applications and restarting the computer.

What if I don't see Analog Efex Pro on my computer? Rebel memory edited this topic 107 months ago.

The "VARY" button should be a VERY fun random change generator for creative exploration!!įull Nik How2 List is here for easy reference.

Not as complicated as CEP4 so you can select which effects you want in the Camera Kit. But there is a "Brush" tool on the bottom that may be useful. I guess they haven't added control points yet. And there is a lot of creative potential in the vintage film effects, and film plate textures. Much more light leak than in other programs. The filters overlap a bit with CEP4, but some are enhanced, and there are a couple nice new ones. Same great Nik interface! They have a nice set of examples and a set of UTube basic descriptions/ instructions. Hanif Barnwell edited this topic 107 months ago. Originally posted at 5:17PM, 29 October 2013 PDT The trial version will upgrade your Nik Collection with the latest updates and will be activated. When the download is complete, locate the file on your computer, make sure to quit out of any host image editing application such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or Aperture, double-click on the installer and follow the onscreen instructions. Please, do not uninstall your Nik Collection. To install the new Nik Collection upgrade, if you own the Nik Collection by Google, you can download the trial version in our website and install on top of your current version. I'm super excited to see Google / Nik Software push out Analog EFEX PRO as part of the Nik Collection, so far me likey! I'm confused on why this does not come with control points?!?
